Groups @ St Elisabeth’s

There are a number of groups associated with St Elisabeth’s, catering for different parts of our wider community in Reddish.  These are as diverse as a tots group, a women’s guild, choirs, yoga groups to name a few.

Find out more details about individual groups and where and when they meet below:

Caring in the Community

For many years St Elisabeth’s has had a group of volunteers visiting elderly people in their homes or in hospital.  Last year we were invited to extend this service by teaming up wiht AgeUKNHS Stockport, and our local Police, so that we might visit more of the vulnerable and housebound people in Reddish.

A growing team of 10 people have beeen trained as visitors, they all have valid CRB certificates, follow ‘good-practice’ guidelines set out by AgeUK, and are monitored and supported by them.

This is not a religious visit, but a befriending service, at a time when more and more people need to feel secure in their homes, and have a friendly face to see regularly.  Look out for our posters in shops and surgeries.

If you know of anyone who might benefit from a visit, please contact us.

The guild also hosts the Wednesday morning Eucharist at the Community Centre, which is followed by an Open House, where tea and toast is available, as well as a raffle or two if you’re feeling lucky!
